Running the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tools on your Windows computer will give a speed boost and should be run regularly for maintenance.
The Disk Cleanup removes temporary internet files stored in the cache that slow responsiveness.
The Disk Defragmenter organizes files on the hard drive so they can be found faster.
Both of these programs can be found be going to: Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
For even greater speed, consider a RAM upgrade.

The best drive utilities IMO are Diskeeper 08 (best automatic/low free space defrag) and for diskcleanups CCleaner. I run a diskcleanup every week and Diskeeper runs in the background keeping fragmentation under control.
